One of my most cherished and impactful productions was 'ASU for Colored Girls'. This experience profoundly shaped our understanding of identity as a Black American woman in society, offering a powerful, rooted perspective. It was more than a performance; it was a journey of self-discovery and empowerment that resonated deeply, making us feel truly powerful, inside and out.
Embodying strength, celebrating spirit
Following a similar path of empowerment, the production of 'Black Women Walking' further amplified these feelings of inner and outer strength. Both 'ASU for Colored Girls' and 'Black Women Walking' allowed us to embody and express powerful narratives, reaffirming our belief in the transformative power of dance to build confidence and celebrate diverse experiences.
